Setting up the DVR for viewing on local network.

These steps are for setting up for local network viewing. Perform this first before setting up for internet viewing.
- Enter [SYSTEM MENU] > [EXTERNAL DEVICE] > [TP/IP SETUP] > [DHCP SETUP] > [DHCP MODE].
- Place
the cursor at DHCP MODE and press ENTER to switch the DHCP MODE to
[AUTOMATIC]. Then, move the cursor over [DETECT IP] and press ENTER to
detect IP. DVR will automatically get the IP ADDRESS, SUBNET MASK, and
GATEWAY from the Cable Modem and shows the IP information on the DVR.
- Change DHCP MODE back to [MANUAL].
- Press
MENU and go back to the previous setup page, [TP/IP SETUP]. Go to [IP
CONFIG SETUP] to set up the port number. Use port 08000, as some
routers do not support higher port numbers. Write down the IP address
for the DVR at this time.
- Hit the MENU key until the DVR
has completely exited all menus. Check to make sure that the DVR is
recording (REC light on front of DVR will be on).
- Make sure the customer has installed the Remoteview J2k client. Open the program and click on the Setup button.
- On
the IP/PORT tab, make sure Manual is selected. Enter in a name, the IP
address, port number, and the username "admin". Hit Save, and then OK.
(If the customer has changed the default password on thier DVR, they
must download the newest version of Remoteview at
http://closeoutcctv.com/ under the "Help" section).
- Click
on the Connect button, and select the entry for the current DVR, then
click OK. You should see the cameras start appearing after a few
seconds.

Setting up the DVR for viewing over the Internet.

- Make sure you have performed all the steps in "Setting up the DVR for viewing on local network".
- Forward port 8000 to the local IP address of your DVR (usually 192.168.XXX.XXX). Please see "Port Forwarding Information" on how to set up your router's port forwarding.
- Use WhatIsMyIP.com to determine your Internet IP address. If you have a static address
through your internet provider, it should match what you see on the
website.
- When viewing over the internet with Remote J2k,
you will use the Internet IP address of your connection, with port 8000
to access your DVR

Unable to log in to advr.com.tw or strange characters appear after logging in.

If
you experience problems logging in to advr.com.tw, or after logging in,
you get strange characters, you will need to create a new account with
the DDNS service. This happened because your previous username
contained invalid characters (punctuation or spaces).
Your new username must contain only alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9), and no spaces are allowed. |
